Candidate profile: |
Textile Designers create patterns and prints in fabrics, draft pattern using a variety
of artistic techniques according to function of fabric and consumer preference.
Textile Designer is required to generate design ideas from reference materials,
current trends and specific client instructions. A person who can play with a range
of different styles and techniques, having a Degree/Diploma in Textile Designing
preferably having an exposure to work along with training to demonstrate consistency
in quality of work and artistic mastery. |

Job Description: |
- Producing sketches, worked-up designs and samples for presentation to customers;
- Assessing and approving completed items and production standards
- Experimenting with colour, fabric and texture and coming up with original and creative
designs
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new design and production techniques and textile
technology
- Developing new design concept and ensuring their delivery on time
- Sourcing fabrics and other materials at trade fairs, markets and online stores.
- Attending trade shows, as a delegate or as an exhibitor - this may involve representing
the company with a display or stand.
- Liaising with clients and technical, marketing and buying staff to plan and develop
designs
- Keeping up to date and spotting fashion trends in fabric design by minutely studying
forecasts in trade magazines and using internet resources
- Producing sketches, worked-up designs and samples for presentation to customers
